My Yalp

This stunning and unique family park has something for everyone!

The Castle of Laune is Watched Over by a Kind, Gentle Dragon

Laune Family Park wanted to build a new playground to replace the old one. The playground had to consider different aspects, such as age and user groups (accessibility and inclusion), and design activities suitable for all groups.

The activities and their layout were designed to make play meaningful and challenging enough to be safe. For example, the castle also has a section for the younger children and activities at the right height for wheelchair users. In addition to the play structure’s climbing, hanging, and balancing features, there are also speech tubes in the courtyard and outside the walls, which allow children to communicate with each other.

The Yalp Sona Interactive dance and play arch is at the center of the castle courtyard, allowing for various interactive games. A motion camera above the arch registers the players’ movements on the game floor and receives feedback through music and sounds. As part of the theming, the playground was the setting for both a story and the story’s companion dragon, Lauha.

The result is a spectacular family park, whose usage and popularity can be judged because the average playtime in Sona is a whopping nine hours per day!
