16 April 2018, By Yalp

Grand opening in the Netherlands last Friday. Not only is it the first Yalp Sutu in the city of Rotterdam, it is also the very first Yalp Sutu on a ‘Esther Vergeer Foundation Court’ and we are very proud to share our partnership with this amazing foundation. A great reference for Inclusive Play!

For those of you who do not know: Esther Vergeer is a retired Dutch wheelchair tennis player. Combining singles and doubles, she has won 48 Grand Slam tournaments, 23 year-end championships and 7 Paralympics titles. Vergeer was the world number one wheelchair tennis player from 1999 until her retirement in February 2013 and ended her career on a winning streak of 470 matches. She is often mentioned as the most dominant player in professional sports and won the Laureus World Sports Award for Sportsperson of the Year with a Disability twice both in 2002 and 2008.

She started her foundation in 2004 to enable children that are physically challenged to participate in sports and she loves our interactives!
